Lead Dental Assistant/Radiographer

Take digital intra-oral and extra oral radiographic imaging (e.g. cone beam computed tomography, and bitewing, periapical, occlusal and panoramic views in analog/film and digital/plate/sensor formats). Review radiographs within guidelines. Process and route imaging related materials. Greet, screen and direct patients. Confirm patient is authorized for a radiographic examination. Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dental students. Assign patients to dental students, within guidelines. Monitor collection of instruments; dispense supplies, disposable materials, instrument and equipment. Maintain cleanliness of the work area and quality and safety standards; ensure proper recycling, disposal of infectious materials and adherence to infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance.


Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education:
Associate's Degree Dental Hygiene

Required Experience:
2+ years of related experience. Graduate of a Dental Assistant Training Program oral surgery experience and 1-2 years of related experience including oral surgery experience with IV sedation/general anesthesia. State Certification as a Dental Assistant or Registered Certification as a Dental Assistant

Preferred Experience:
2+ years Knowledge of chairside assisting for oral surgical procedures. Knowledge of oral surgical instrumentation.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of chairside assisting for oral surgical procedures. Knowledge of oral surgical instrumentation. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
NYSDOH approved CBCT training for dental assistants. Valid New York State Radiology Technology license or Dental Hygiene license. Certification as a Dental Assistant or AAOMS DAANCE (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination) Certificate.


In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $ 36.900

. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts.
